Is a process right for automation?
Look for high volume, stable and rules-based work.
A strong automation candidate usually:
- Is completed frequently or in large volumes
- Follows clear, repeatable rules
- Requires limited human judgement for the standard path
- Uses electronic or machine-readable information
- Involves copying, checking, capturing or moving data between systems
- Has a manageable level of exceptions
- Is supported by reasonably stable applications and processes
- Creates a measurable business benefit when completed faster or more accurately
The best place to begin is often a single, highly visible process that causes delays, creates errors or absorbs too much employee time.
